Prof. d-r Rose Smileski was born on 18.07.1956 in Gorno Batushe, Makedonski Brod, Republic of Macedonia. He finished chemical high school in Prilep 1975, and than continued his education at the Technical Military Academy in Zagreb in the field of Chemistry, specialization in pyrotechnology. Graduated in 1980.
He completed postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Technology in Zagreb in 1985, and gained doctoral degree from the Faculty of Technology and Metalurgy ,Skopje in 1994 in the field of technological sciences.
During his officers' career he went through the following ranks: 2nd Lieutenant (1980), 1st Lieutenant (1981), Captain (1984), Captain 1st Class (1988), Major (1992), Lieutenant Colonel (1994) and Colonel (1999).
His career as a teacher and research worker started at the Department for ammunition and explosive means,Technical Military Academy, Zagreb, where he was elected as lecturer (1988),and continued at the Military Academy"General Mihailo Apostolski",Skopje as a Reader (1995) and than Assistant profesor (2000) .
He is actively involved in the following teaching disciplines: maintaining ammunition and explosive means,ammunition storing ,explosive substances and internal balistics.
Starting 1992 he is an active oficer in the Army of R. Macedonia ,Logistics department at the General Staff Office and then in 1993 he went at the Institution for officers' education, Skopje, where he established and managed the Department for Armamanet and ammunition, which was later transformed into Department for military technology nad machinery.
In 1998 he was elected Vice Dean for scientific and research work ,Military Academy.
He worked on the development of a laboratory for explosive substances and the following disciplines: Technology of amminition and explisive substances,Chemistry of the explosive materia and Internal balistics with a construction of classical armament.
He is also teaching Postgraduate students at the Mechanical Faculty,Skopje,in the field of Modern defence means.
Prof. d-r Rose Smileski has carried out many research projects, applicative projects for the Macedonian economy and published many scientific and research projects in the country and abroad.
He initiated and directed the First Scientific symposium in the field of explosive substances and military technology , of international character hosted in Ohrid , R.Macedonia(2002).
He was apponited Deans' representative on 10 April,2003.
