Admission criteria [in accordance with the Law]

• to be citizens of the Republic of Macedonia
• to have completed secondary education [4 years]
• to be no older than 21
• to be mentally and physically fit - confirmed by a special Military Medical Board
• to fulfil special criteria according to the Statute of the Military Academy

According to the Statute there are some additional requirements for cadets:

• to be single
• not to have a criminal record or be prosecuted

Selection

• The competition is open until 31st of March of the current year
  
• Candidates submit the necessary documents
  
• A selection board supervises the entrance procedure

Selection procedures:

1. Medical check: general medical check in the local medical units, specialist medical check and psychophysical test in the Military Hospital in Skopje.

2. Physical readiness test: - three physical exercises are checked: pull-ups [min.5], long jump [at least 200 cm] and running 1500m [6 min + 30 sec. max.]

3. Intellectual capability check:

• ranking according to secondary education results
  
• taking an entrance exam [maths and another subject]

The final ranking list is based on the following criteria:

• 40% from secondary education;
• 40% from maths;
• 20% results from the other subject

The Minister of Defence decides on the number of candidates that will be admitted to the Academy.

The cadets of the Military Academy are provided with:

• board and lodging
• uniform and other clothing
• books and other teaching aids and instructional materials
• health protection
• monthly stipend
• travel costs for annual /term holiday
• travel and other costs for planned field activities

The special rights and duties of the cadets are arranged with an agreement according to the Statute of the Academy.
